“‘Mayday’ was one of those songs that was so easy to write and is so much fun to play live. Buzzing this tune is finally out to the world,” Nolan said. The release arrives ahead of Nolan’s first North American headline shows this fall, including a November 3 performance at Bar Lubitsch in Los Angeles. He supported Kingfishr on the band’s North American summer tour and will join them again for European dates this fall. His performance schedule also includes The Neighbourhood Festival in Manchester.

Nolan made his recording debut in June 2026 with “my baby loves me for free – demo,” followed by “Dickhead – demo” in July. His musical background began in Leixlip, Ireland, where he grew up with three brothers. He started playing piano at 12 and took up guitar at 15, before beginning to write his own songs. By 19, Nolan was busking and performing in pubs across Ireland, gaining experience through regular live appearances. He cites Jim Croce, Ed Sheeran, and Stevie Wonder among his influences, drawing on their approaches to melody and storytelling in his own songwriting.
